Portland natural stone was selected for the refurbishment of Bentham House, a Grade II listed building on Endsleigh Gardens and home to the UCL Faculty of Laws. Built between 1954 and 1958 in a Georgian style and located within a conservation area close to UCL’s main campus, the project carefully balanced heritage preservation with the demands of working on an active university site, delivering modern facilities while retaining the historic character of this important academic building.
Portland natural stone was the ideal material for the refurbishment of Bentham House, a Grade II listed building on Endsleigh Gardens and home to the UCL Faculty of Laws. Built between 1954 and 1958 in a Georgian style, the building sits within a conservation area close to UCL’s main campus. The project successfully balanced heritage preservation with the challenges of working on an active university site. Now complete, it stands as a proud addition to our central London portfolio, retaining the history of Bentham House while providing modern facilities for a world-leading centre of legal education.
